    iRiver iFP-799

On September 13, iRiver announced a price drop for its iFP-700- and iFP-800-series flash MP3 players. The lower prices are driven by the availability of a new breed of inexpensive flash memory, and iRiver, thanks to an exclusive relationship with memory suppliers, will blaze the path to lower-cost flash players this fall. While the price break isn't jaw-dropping for the 128MB and 256MB players, it reflects a significant ($150) change for the 1GB units.
