Product Description: iPod classic 160GB - Silver

With 80GB or 160GB of storage, iPod classic gives your music and video room to move. It also has plenty of energy (up to 40 hours of audio playback), good looks (a sleek, all-metal design), and a great personality (a brand-new interface with Cover Flow). In other words, iPod classic makes an ideal companion. Why not get to know it better?

Pros: The iPod Classic is just like the fifth-generation iPod with video, only slimmer, tougher, and injected with a more visually rich graphical user interface

Cons: Video output now requires a proprietary cable; audio quality has not improved; some older iPod video accessories may not be compatible; users are required to use the latest version of iTunes, which may not work on some older computer systems

The iPod Classic is a refinement of the formula that put the iPod on the map. Few can match its combination of storage capacity, battery life, and advanced user interface

    Pros: bat life and capacity

    Cons: screen size & Compatibility

though this is my first IPod, I have been in look for it for a long long time. hereby said, it is not my only media player, far from.. the unit design is, as the name, classy. though the body is easily subject to scratch and smudge. so I suggest you... get a Rubber/silicon skin and a screen filter to go with it, just so it maintain its beauty. the storage capacity is off the hook, for a portable unit, if you need high volume space, this be the best choice, as far as per unit cost. hereby not said that other media players ain't capable of providing that kind of storage, cuz they are, but those units have a tendency to become a little too bulky for comfort. not to mention that they fall in an entirely different price class, which sort of kills the per unit cost objective. batery life .. just incredible, i have watched upto 5 movies straight on one charge before it drained the batery. some of my other players don't even offer that long a playback time for audio. as far as the drawback are concerned, and I wont say there aint none, cuz there are, i will mention 3 'C' that I have discovered so far in the coouple of weeks that I have owned the unit. 1. Compatibility : I have some a/v connecting harware that was made for IPod, but NOT compatible with the Classic. meaning Apple is running 2 different standards for the high end units. 2. Connectivity : it is all fine that apple prefer the user to use ITunes for transfer of media to and from the units, i won't complain there, thou it would be nice to be able to use other programs as well. but my concern is, and i don't know how many other individuals can relate to it, but when i sync my IPod with one computer, thats it, in order for me to use the contents for an other computer, I have to delete everything thats on the unit before hand. now I have all together 5 computers up and running in my room, all of them have their own media library. but if there is anthing on any of my other units that I want to put on my IPod, I have to first copy it over to the computer where I have my primary ITunes set up. and that is a inconvenience. 3. Cost : though it is an economic per GB cost, considering that I bought a 1gb MP3 for $200. merely 18 months ago. and I am not talking unit cost, but actual cost. $400 is a lot of money for a lot of people, i am not talking about myself, but in general... this is almost a full weeks pay for some people who don't have the top paying jobs... which by default excludes people with lesser incmes from enjoying this beautiful unit. what I could wish to be better is the screen size, cus 2.5" is pretty small. ok I know Apple provides a unit with a biger screen too, the "Touch" in close to the same price as this unit, but the capacity is only 10% of this unit, so I think that is a bad bargain. i know, one can't have it all, big screen high capacity ultra slim portability and economically easy... so one have to make a compromise somewhere... so I won't complain, you can see the movie just fine, though tiny. but for next generation maybe they can work on integrating a bigger display. bottom line .... beautiful unit... good price per GB Read more Less
