iPod nano - Needs Help in Some Areas

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 26, 2007 | 7 out of 8 found this iPod Nano 8GB (3G) - Black review helpful

Pros: Video at last, very small, $50 cheaper, nice looks

Cons: Abysmal battery life for video, needs more storage space, buggy OS

When I held the iPod nano, if felt solid and well built in my hand. It is very small, a little too small for my taste. The click wheel is rather inconsistent, jumping down categories at times. The new UI (user interface) is rather slow, sometimes tak...ing a few seconds to load a menu. Coverflow is pointless... BUT, for its functionality, great appearance, and price, it is a great player for the beginner buyer. Read more Less

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 9, 2007 | 4 out of 7 found this iPod Nano 8GB (3G) - Black review helpful

Pros: Sensitive click wheel, not 16GB flash memory

Cons: Small, no hard drive so I don't have to worry about dropping it.

I've seen people say it's expensive, but if you compare it to the last gen Nano, it's $100 cheaper for the same amount of storage, plus video capability this time around. Also, this is not intended to store your entire movie c...ollection. That's the iPod Classics job. That's why it has over 100GB of storage. There is a reason there are 4 different kinds of iPods; they each taylor to a different music, and video library style. As far as battery life goes, it ONLY lasts a mere 20-24 hours if you are playing music; and about 3.5-5 playing video, depending on how you use it. Which, realistically, comes out to charging it maybe every 3 or 4 days if you mostly listen to music. As far as quality issues. I've had none. It syncs perfectly every time, I've never lost anything off of it. It helps to know how the iTunes sync works. If you remove a song from a play list, or delete it from your library, the next time you sync, it won't be in that playlist or on your iPod at all. Also, I have a OS 10.4 so I don't have Vista, or XP on my computer to wreak havoc with the iPod software, which can happen. So, if you're looking for something to hold 10-20 hours worth of video, this is not the mp3 player for you. But if you want to store 4 days worth of music, and the occasional video podcast or two, into a player that will fit into the palm of your hand, then this is the player for you. Also, the simplicity of use alone makes it worth buying. A post script: You will probably want to replace the ear buds that come with it, the are not great. Also, it's very light, and if you put it in your pocket, it can be easy to forget it's there. So check to make sure it's not in your pockets before you wash your clothes. Read more Less

The Necessity of an Ipod Nano 8 GB Mp3 Player

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Feb 6, 2008 | 2 out of 3 found this iPod Nano 8GB (3G) - Black review helpful

    Pros: size,cool accessories,graphics,colo
    rs,versitilty

Cons: more memory, podcasts are hard to watch

I enjoyed buying a Ipod since I had been used to using a regular, combersome cd player. It is perfect to take any where and holds up to 8 GB of memory or up to 2,000 songs. It has room for podcasts and lots of other neat gadgets such as a calendar and... a alarm clock. I was most amazed with how it organized my music:by album, artist, songs,or genre. Also the graphics such as pictures are crystal clear and excellent in pixel value. Read more Less

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Sep 30, 2008 | 1 out of 1 found this iPod Nano 8GB (3G) - Black review helpful

    Pros: Small, sounds

    Cons: promoting ear buds

I've lost enough of my hearing that like the idea of putting something in my ear that creates sound with only one direction for it to go.

    Christmas 2007

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 31, 2007 | 1 out of 1 found this iPod Nano 8GB (3G) - Black review helpful

    Pros: small, holds a lot,

Cons: Very complicated to get your own videos on - easy to get videos that you buy from the Sony Store

I like the video ipod. I hate that you can't copy music from your friends computer to your ipod and then from your ipod to your computer. You would have to store it on your ipod just as a file and then transfer to your computer and then copy to y...our ipod library and upload back to your ipod. It is very difficult to get your own movies onto the ipod that you've downloaded from "Other" sources. It is simple to buy music videos from the sony store and have them put onto your ipod of course. Ipod

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Oct 21, 2008 | 1 out of 2 found this iPod Nano 8GB (3G) - Black review helpful

    Pros: plays music

    Cons: Product Quality and support

Dont buy Apple. I have had a MacBook and an IPOD. Both have had technical issues that were no fault of mine. My MacBook was under warranty and they refused to replace it, instead they wanted to send it to the factory to diagnose the problem.(it would...n't boot up and was overheating) When I said that I couldn't wait that long they refused to offer any other options. I ended up waiting three weeks without a computer, just to get it fixed. So I was out for three weeks, and I had to fight daily with Apple just for that. And how was I compensated...I wasn't, they made me feel like they were doing me a favor. Then they refused to fix my IPod because it is a month over its warranty. So in other words their products are good for a year. After that you have to buy a new one, but they gave me a good deal, only $79 for an IPod NANO 4gb.(how about backing up the products that you sell with a longer warranty or quality products, or even just better support.) What happened to making a product that lasted and customer service that serviced the customer? DONT BUY APPLE! Read more Less
