Vanessa Redgrave would later participate in a well-received made-for-television remake in 1988. This biographical drama earned eight Academy Award nominations and six wins, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Paul Scofield), and Best (Adapted) Screenplay.

    Great film of a greater man

    This is easily one of the best films ever made, if for no other reason than that it faithfully portrays a man, St. Thomas More, and his martyrdom for the truth. In an age of comprimise, this film stands as a testimony to being true to principles at ...all costs.As a film, it is well acted and well directed. More's humorous side is not emphasized, but a man for all seasons is not easily summed up in one film. Still, the film has few equals for its power to inspire. Highly recommended. Read more Less
