Los Angeles glam rock trio Zolar X formed in 1972guitarist Ygarr Ygarrist (born Steven Della Bosca) and bassist Zany Zatovian (Bruce Courtois) drew on classic sciencefiction iconography in creating the fledgling group's image, devising costumes including antennae, skintight body suits and moon boots, even inventing their own alien dialect.
