Japanese art rocker Yukihiro Takahashi joined Yellow Magic Orchestra with keyboardist Ryuichi Sakamoto and bassist/producer Haruomi Hosono in 1977. During his tenure with that band, which lasted up until the mid-'80s, Takahashi played drums and handled vocals, but chose to exercise some of his more eclectic tendencies and multi-instrumental abilities on simultaneous solo projects, beginning with 1981's Neuromantic.
