    Megadeth v.s Rap

I think youthanasia is probably Mega's best album, but the main purpose of this review is to remind everyone how lucky we are that people like Mustaine ignore the mainstream (for the most part) and keep producing things that don't represent the clima...x of human stupidity, rap and hip hop. Rap is the most terrible of all creations. Remember how great groups like Megadeth are, and never let anyone get away with saying otherwise. Read more Less

    Music:

    Must-have album.

Pros: Some of the deepest Megadeth lyrics, and great tunes to top it off.

Cons: None that come to mind.

This is most likely the best Megadeth album to date. It's got all you can ask for; chilling bass, guitar solos, deep, deep lyrics, and all around great sound. Youthanasia is often pushed aside for Countdown to Extinction when it comes to choosin...g the best M'deth album, but don't pass this up. Read more Less

Pro Reviews: Youthanasia

  • All Music Guide

Megadeth's follow-up to the hit Countdown to Extinction lacks the focus of its predecessor, but Youthanasia makes up the difference with more accessible, radio-friendly production and tighter riffs. Unfortunately, they have abandoned some of the more experimental, progressive elements in their music, but those are hardly missed in the jackhammer riffs of tracks like "Train of Consequences."

Biography

Megadeth

After he left Metallica in 1983, guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine formed the thrash metal quartet Megadeth. Though Megadeth followed the basic blueprint of Metallica's relentless attack, Mustaine's group distinguished themselves from his earlier band by lessening the progressive rock influences, adding an emphasis on instrumental skills, speeding the tempo up slightly, ... Read more
