  • All Music Guide

Victor Feldman's first record as a leader in six years (which has been reissued on CD in Japan) matches the versatile player (who switches between piano, vibes and percussion) with bassist Chuck Domanico, drummer John Guerin and the young Tom Scott (who is heard on tenor, alto and flute). The music ranges from Brazilian jazz and the humorous "Crazy Chicken" to a rapid rendition of the theme from "I Love Lucy" and a remake of Feldman's most famous composition, "Seven Steps to Heaven." The leader plays well, and this is one of Tom Scott's best jazz dates.
