    Great Easy Listening

    Pros: excelllent

    Cons: reccomanded album

A very rare album of great easy listening, with echoes reminescent of R & B, romantic Soul, respectful infusion of jazz and traditional pop.All the tunes are a selection of high class, an infinite delicacy and expressivity of emotion, for the joy of ...the listeners, pushed to a very great level of music and joy. All that, will take us back to a time when music was sustance, so deep to take the breath away. " Summer in the City" and " Daydreaming " so tenderly and smooth will show You the way to dream. Great album and great music. Read more Less

Pro Reviews: You've Got It Bad Girl

  • All Music Guide

With a predictable combination of movie/TV themes, dreary covers of Top 40 ballads, some jazz and a few striking moments, this is a maddeningly uneven follow-up to Smackwater Jack. A magically spooky saunter through the Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" leads it off, but the record becomes bogged down in easy-listening strings and "soulful" vocals, despite the presence of ace soloists like Phil Woods, Hubert Laws and George Duke. Things do become more exuberant as Stevie Wonder punctuates his "Superstition" on harmonica, and a fussed-over big-band rendition of Dizzy's "Manteca" delivers sporadic kicks. But Q mostly marks time before going completely off the reservation on his next outing.
