Tafuri puts lots of gut and zing into a spirited cover of the Phyllis Hyman disco/RB classic and pop crossover hit. Remaining faithful to the original while adding in sprightly sax and percussive elements for good measure, the production of Steve Anderson, Gordon Mack III, and Angela B. Stone is equal parts radio- and club-friendly. The main "Extended Mix" is the most thorough, maintaining Tafuri's full vocal delivery within a long, kinetic groove, while the "Mass Extension" and "Creative Dub" versions take the track on a fine journey to the underground. The single's other track, "Start Up the Fire," is just as impressive. With soulful male chorus vocals by Craig Derry and a coolly understated instrumental track complementing Tafuri's delivery, it's first-rate club fare.
