    Best Samurai Film I've Seen

    Pros: Comedy, Hired Gun, Violent Sword Play

    Cons: A little over the top villians, but still good for laughs

    This movie is a classic samurai movie that I will add to my DVD collection. It has plenty of comedy from the main character, who doesn't take **** from anyone. Have sword, will travel, sometimes to the gang just across the street.Recomended for t...hose who like Spagetti Westerns and Last Man Standing. Read more Less

    You really can't beat the original.

    This is the movie a Fist Full of Dollars and the horrible Last Man Standing was based off of. A ronin wanders into a town besieged by two gambling gangs bent on destroying one another .The main character, Sanjuro, comes up with a plan to trick the t...wo sides into destroying one another. The cinemetography is excellent and the acting of Toshiro Mifune as Sanjuro is very well done. Even if you're not a fan of Japanese movies I think this one can be enjoyed by all. Read more Less

    The perfect Japanese Western

    For those who enjoy Clint Eastwood films, they should definitely take a look into the original western by the great Akira Kurosawa. In Yojimbo, two warring clans in a small town are duped by an almost anti-hero samurai. West meets east in this movie..., where samarui fight in the middle of a town straight out of a classic Western film. Plus, the depth and grittiness that is provided by the black-and-white film especially with the digital enhancement on DVD improves an already great movie. Read more Less
