Yellowman was one of the hottest toasters in Jamaican dancehalls during the 1980s and though his career slowed down towards the decade's end, he has began to come back in the early '90s with a mellower, slightly less controversial style. It was his rude style filled with lyrics many consider homophobic and explicitly sexist that inspired the word "slackness" as a descriptor for some types of dancehall music. But he has always been more than merely vulgar and careful listening to his lyrics...
