    This is one of the funniest movies ever made! Graham Chapman (from Monty Python) plays the infamous pirate Yellowbeard, who has been in prison for 15 years. When his ex-wife (Madelene Kahn) and son, Dan, decide to go after his buried treasure, Yello...wbeard escapes and joins a frenzied hunt that results in all sorts of swashbuckling fun. It includes the funniest cast of alumni from Monty Python, Mel Brooks, and Cheech and Chong. What more can you ask for? Pirates, swashbuckling, treasure, trechery, spys swordfights, ship battles, all performed by some of the funniest people in the biz. It includes Peter Boyle and Marty Feldman as Yellowbeard's former First and Second Mates, Eric Idle as a Royal Navy Commander with John Cleese as his blind spy, and Cheech and Chong as the funniest Spanish inquistors ever seen.     Pros: Excellent performances from a horde of classic actors

    Cons: May manage to offend those who need offending... oh, that's a Pro

    This movie is hands down one of the most hilarious movies I've seen. Perhaps my sense of humor differs from yours, but if you liked movies like Ice Pirates, Blazing Saddles, History of the World, Life of Brian or the Holy Grail, Big Trouble in Li...ttle China, or other oddball but inspired hilarity, you'll love this. The tape integrity on my copy is getting weak. I ration viewings of the VHS tape, and I never hit pause, knowing that each shift of the heads risks permanent destruction... I may just wallpaper a room in the film and whirl around and around to watch it once it does break... Seriously, you would be nuts not to love this movie. Read more Less

    Pros: Funny, funny & oh so funny!

    Cons: Can't get it in a DVD

    From start to finish, this movies plays like a slapstick with a pirate venue. The stars in this movie really let their hair down in this one. I don't think that any one of them was afraid of looking funny or stupid because that was the WHOLE po...int of this movie. Read more Less
