The Yamaha's YST-SW201 subwoofer delivers low bass, which is so important for effective home theater. This Advanced Active Servo Technology subwoofer features a 6-1/2" driver and 50-watt amplifier to deliver the sonic punch needed for ultimate listening experience. It is magnetically shielded, so it can be placed near a TV without degrading the picture. A volume control and 50 to 150 Hz continuously variable high-cut filter allow for seamless transitions from subwoofer to full-range speakers. The subwoofer will automatically activate when its circuitry senses an audio signal and will turn off when the signal has ceased for several minutes.

    This sub chokes on movies with low frequency. I went and replaced with a higher end sub and it was biggggg differ.

    Good Sub for great price

    Pros: Good bass, Auto detection, Price

    Cons: Slightly rattles, but not to much

    This sub is pretty good considering it comes with an entry level home entertainment theater system. It puts out solid bass and makes movies very enjoyable to watch with minimal to no problems. Key note...Make sure you use good wire for the woofer o...r it may not sound as nice in high action movies. Good price and good bass for what you pay for. Read more Less
