Great Reciever with Room to Grow

Pros: Great Sound, Feature Rich, High Quality

Cons: Complexity can be overwhelming.

The RX-V2600 is my first receiver purchase in the "Higher End" catagory. My main reason for getting the receiver was to better integrate my home theater components. Multiple remotes along with having to switch modes on the receiver as well as the television, DVD player and cable box drove me to search for a better solution.

The RX-V2600 easily integrated all of my components. Now the audio and video outputs of all of my components are plugged into the receiver and one cable connects the reciever to my TV. The only other output from the receiver are speakers.

Setup was at first a little overwhelming but not an insurmountable task for the novice. Yamaha's automatic surround setup via a supplied microphone did a better job than I could have done myself. Setting up the remote was a snap and only a couple commands required custom programming.

How does it sound? All I can say is that I get nothing but compliments from friends and family that have experienced my system. Although speaker and sub-woofer brand and placement have a lot to do with overall sound quality... the RX-V2600 delivers clean striking highs and deap lows that will compliment just about any speaker sub-system.

Lots of audio and video inputs along with HD upscaling means that you can still get some added life out of your older components and still have room to add more as time goes by. It even has the ability to output to multiple zones so piping audio into you rec. room or patio is possible.
