Progressive scanning provides maximum resolution for a smoother, film-like image when viewed on a high definition TV or large screen. The DVD-S2500 offers progressive scanning of both PAL and NTSC signals.

Video displays use two types of scanning systems: interlaced and progressive. In brief, progressive scans twice as fast as interlaced, providing a superior picture with less flicker and other distortion. The DVDS2500 has a progressive scan processor built in, so progressive video images can be viewed on a digital TV or monitor. Also it provides Motion Adaptive Noise Reduction, Cross Color Suppressor, Aspect Ratio Conversion and TrueLife Enhancer.

HDCP and HDMI are both advanced versions of DVI (Digital Video Interface). They provide superb video quality, much better than a component connection. HCDP includes content protection and HDMI handles both video and audio. These connections provide 480p, 576p, 720p and 1080i digital video output capability.

The DVD-S2500 is compatible with both DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD. These multi-channel music formats provide a surround sound music experience that is much more natural and lifelike than normal stereo.

i.LINK provides a digital connection for DVD-Audio Linear PCM, Super Audio CD DSD (Direct Stream Digital) and other high quality audio sources.

The DVD-S2500 delivers sound quality that is superior even to some more expensive players for a number of reasons. It uses high performance 192kHz/24-bit (DVD-Audio) and SA-CD audio DAC.

An aluminum front panel is used to effectively shield sensitive low-level circuitry from external noise and electronic radiation generated by dimmer switches, HVAC, fluorescent lighting and video display (CRT, LCD, Plasma). This ensures that the DVD-S2500 product provides optimum sonic performance in the widest range of installation environments.

The DVDS2500 makes operation extremely simple by displaying a variety of clearly understandable GUI menus right on the TV or monitor screen. It's easy to select and adjust any desired function with the remote control.

In addition to a wide range of DVD and CD disc types, the DVD-S2500 will also play discs with MP3 files that have been downloaded from the Internet.

More image enjoyment possibilities! The DVD-S2500 lets you view the images on Picture CDs and JPEG (multisession) files that have been downloaded to CDs.
