Got this DVD for Xmas, The X-Men 3rd and Final Battle as the mutant revolution is upon them as a cure is discovered, mutants can choose to retain their superhuman abitites or give up their unique gift and become normal, one of the best of the series including more of the original X-men - Angel, Beast, and also the Juggernaut and Colossus, Great Family Film!

Pros: Excellent end to the first three films
Cons: I wanted to know more about Xavier's fate
Any afficianado of the X-Men Comics would be surprised at the amount of ground covered by these three films. After briefly introducing the major players, we are suddenly catapulted more than 100 issues to the emergence of Phoenix, hinted at near the end of the second film, but there are no problems here for the newbies in the audience. The films fit together like hand and glove in a climax that is as dazzling as is promised. True to form, we can all breathe easy at the fates of the characters--after all, no one really dies in the comics. I would say much the same for this final film. There are materials here that could see any number of films, most likely the extra footage that sets up a solo film for Wolverine. Good fun and great special effects, with something for the oldest purist, or the newest filmgoer. Well worth the price of admission. B.

This is an excellent action/fantasy movie!
Hey, you don't have to be a comic book fan to enjoy the thrill ride in this latest installment in the X-Men line.
This movies seemed to focus more on Wolverine and Jean Grey (a different version of the Death of Phoenix storyline).
Still, the movie manages to maintain a continuity of new characters like Juggernaut, Leech, Pyro, and others.
The sound quality perfectly matched the suspense throughout the DVD (thank goodness for surround sound).

This movie rocked! It was filled with surprises. I loved Kelsey Grammar as beast. It's not everyday you see Frasier tearing people apart. You must watch the credits to the end and the deleted scenes.

I myself thought it was very good, the story line was very good for a rush hour director. Brett Ratner did surprisingly well considering this is not his genre. I thought he used enough characters for any xman fan to be into the movie. I also thought that killing some characters really made the picture, you don't see that enough even xmen can't live forever.

Surprise, surprise. X-Men: The Last Stand, the third big-screen convocation of mutant shape shifters, weather changers, ice makers, energy suckers, healers and telepaths from Marvel Comics, has shifted the shape of the franchise from pretty good, if uninspired, to terrifically entertaining.

Pros: The features were the primary saving grace of this movie.
Cons: the movie did not go by the original Phoenix storyline.
Brett Rtner wanted to make sure that X-Men fans knew this was his vision of the most famed mutantsof all. He did just that, and more. The movie did not go by he original Phoenix storyline at all. this revue won't ruin it for those whomay not have seenthe movie already. But it left a lot of questions unanswered, all the way to the end. For thsoe that saw it, one of th eonly saving graces to this move was that Ratner and 20th Century Fox left in the surprise at the very endafter the credits. The problem here is that that was one of the unanswered questions. It left the movie so open ended that now, 20th Century Fox (or another studio) is going to have to create a 4th X-Men movie. That is the only way. And hopefully, when and if that finally happens, Bryan Singer will come back on board and redeem himself since Superman Returns didn't do so well for him. The main saving grace of ths movie was the features section. It ad a lot of deleted scenes. And the alternate ending concerning Wolverine kind of opens the door for the Wolverine spinoff due out in 2007 or 2008. The main menu was somewhat unneccesary in tha whether or not you choose "The Brotherhood" or "Take A Stand", you et thesame features. So what is the point in having two seperate menus with exactly the same thing? In Ratner's defense, at least he stayed to his original storyline without trying to jump aorund. That is about the only defense possible for him. While the movie may have been a financial success in theaters, it was not a success in terms of the story itself. There is going to have to be a fourth X-Men despite the rumored Wolverine and Storm spinoffs. And hopefully when and if that happens, brett Ratner won't be at the helm.
