One Of My Favorite Albums

First off i love some Erykah badu i have been listening to her since i was young i love this ablum it don't have a lot of songs but they all are good i listen to love of my life worldwide when am in my car with the music loud the whole ablum would be good if u was having a party

Pros: An Engaging, Free-Flowing Followup to "Mama's Gun"
Cons: A bit unfocused, lacking cohesion
"Worldwide Underground" is an intriguing, fascinating mess of a record. Delayed for at least a year, it lacks some of the cohesion and focus of Erykah Badu's last two studio albums, particularly 2000's "Mama's Gun," an underrated classic that literally turned the whole boho soul genre upside down on its head. Badu hasn't made lightning strike again on "Worldwide Underground," but there are some solid touches that are worth a listen. The free-flowing groove of "Back in the Day," the catchy and memorable "Danger," the playful "Love of My Life (with Queen Latifah and Angie Stone)," as well as "Bump" pass along nicely and all invite repeat listens. They're all good slices of the laid back soul we've come to expect, but the EP, as a whole, is as unstructured as Badu's afro wig. And not everything holds together, especially "I Want You." That song has an interesting hook, but when stretched over 10 minutes in length, it overstays its welcome way too soon. Warts and all, I like and recommend "Worldwide Underground." Did she record another "Tyrone" or "On & On?" Nope. Did she release a flawed yet solid EP? Yes. This is one of those records that may throw you in for a loop on the first listen, but it will ultimately grow on you. Grade: B.

Another Badu classic!!!This album is so smooth and mellow. Every track has a nice groove and a funky beat to it. My only gripe is, the album brings you to a boil and just when you're about to boil over...the heat is gone! It just feels too short! But longevity (or lack thereof) be damned, this is a great album!

writers. I am also a big fan of James Poyser, Jeff Bradshaw and many others that you work with.... Queen you are one of the badest women in the R&B industry. This albulm has brought tears to my eyes/Music is my passion anyway. Your lyrics and the music when all comes together its perfect..... Jazzy melodies, interludes, clever ways of expressing your feelings into lyrics I will always be a fan of yours.... Erkah always seems understand and express feelings that we can all relate to. This CD proves Ms.Badu is a true artist. The music is orignal. The lyrics are soul stirring. It takes you back to a time when singers/musicians were truly passionate about the art of creating good music.

This album is truly enchanting. I have put all my favorite CDs to the side to bump this one non-stop. I have had the Worldwide Underground since it's release and I cannot turn it off. It stays in your head like Tetris did when we were all so hooked. Erykah also has something for all listeners. She has guests like Lenny Kravitz and Karon Wheeler from Soul II Soul, Dead Prez, Roy Hargrove, Angie Stone, Bahamadia, and Queen Latifah. I must admit the album sounded a bit weird at first but it quickly grew to be my fave. She even samples from one of her earlier songs "The Other Side of the Game" on "Magic"...Get this album and listen it to it at least once and if you don't like it, send me your copy.

this album is good has new fresh beats that we don't hear too often from artists, but if you check it out the album seems short but is actually not, if you notice every song is about 10 min long.

The vocal arrangement on this album is excellent. And of course the lyrics and music are tha bomb!! I would like to give a personal apology to Erika Badu for taking so long in becoming a fan.

This album is TERRIBLE..........I am so disappointed in this album. I am a really big fan of hers but it seems to me she just threw this together. I like a wide variety of music from Ashanti, to Avril, to Angie, but I can't seem to figure out what she was doing on this album.

Track 3 and love of my life remix are both bombay! i really liked her last album so i was hoping for the same flow this time around, however it still is a tight ep - get up get out get it - my 'neighbors'.

At first I didn't like it because I had my expectations set on the old Badu. But after listening to it the third time I enjoyed it. Now that is the only thing that I play and I just bought it Friday. Ms. BAdu you are the BOMB. (and you know it)

Another excellent album via Miss Erykah. Lyrics are fantastic, track three sounds like a warm summer day with the windows down and the music turned up. I definately recommend it to anyone who loves and seeks good music.

I love this EP. The beats are bumping and lyrically, Erykah is just as clever as ever. This is the best CD I've listened to in a while-I love the originality. She's a true artist. I will be listening to this one for a while.

Not her best work, the previous albums were much stronger. The album is also very short: If you take out the intro and the outro, you are left with only 8 songs :-(
