Although this is the LP that snatched inevitable mega-stardom from Todd's grasp, it his also his most ambituous, daring and successful album to date. The breakneck pace of the record is relentless, while inspired diversity leaves one dizzy. Bombastic rock anthems (International Feel)and psychadelic pop romps (Sunset Blvd) are complimented by Show tune ballads (Never Never Land) and gleefully trippy nonsense (Just Another Onionhead). Stand out tracks Zen Archer and the closing Just One Victory deserve to be seen as pop land marks, and only a master at his peak could pull off a possibly crass R&B medley with such class. It is hardly an understatement to suggest Wizard was one of the great artistic triumphs of the twentieth century.
