Willie Wisely began his recording career emulating his idols in the Beatles, blending in a jazzy feel on his 1994 debut, Parlez-Vous Français?, attributed to the Willie Wisely Trio. The record also displayed Wisely's ironic humor, which was featured amply on 1996's wildly eclectic She. After writing a score for the film Tromeo and Juliet, Wisely began work on a third record, which was released in 1997 under the title Turbosherbet.
