William Elliott
William "Wild Bill" Elliott was a noted movie cowboy during the mid-20s through the early 1950s. Born Gordon Nance in Pattonsburg, Missouri, he was a life-long horseman and a champion bronc rider in his teens. He began studying acting at the Pasadena Playhouse in the '20s and by 1925, using the name Gordon Elliott began playing bit parts in films. He didn't get his big break until 1938 when he appeared in the Columbia Pictures serial The Great Adventures of Wild Bill Hickcok.
