Beginning their career in 1989, Wig was one of the most popular bands in lower Michigan in the early '90s. Featuring singer Preston Long, bassist Fran Falls, guitarist Schurgin, and drummer John Burke, the Ann Arbor band recorded the independently released Lying Next to You in 1990. The album was a surprise success, even gaining praise from BBC DJ John Peel. Long left the group to form Mule, so the band replaced him with author Clark S. Nova and recorded the demos that would get them an Island...
