    Pros: OK features

    Cons: Noisy, Noisy, Noisy!

    After having Maytag washers for decades, we recently had to buy a replacement. We were told by sales people at the big-box appliance store that Maytags today are not the high quality that we had enjoyed on the past. They said that Whirlpool makes the... best top loader today. We bought the WTW5800SW two months ago, and now have buyer's remorse! The new washer works, but it sounds like a freight train on the spin cycle with a full load. We also bought a Whirlpool dryer at the same time, and this finely crafted machine promptly ruined some clothes, due to a burr in the drum. It took a week to get service, and Whirlpool won't do anything about the ruined clothes.I will definitely go back to Maytag when this set wears out. My guess is that we won't have to wait very long!
