Pros: quite, washs great, sprin speeds quicken drying
Cons: pedestal price and quality
2nd front load HE I have owned, this one is much better than the Kenmore (Whirlpool) I bought 4 years ago. I don't think the other reviewers knew how to level the machine. I am taking the old Kenmore to the beach as it is still working fine. Another hint is to keep the waher door open a little bit to help with odors but I have not had that problem.
Pros: wash cycle good
Cons: spin cycle
I just had my washer (and dryer, regrigerator, and dishwasher) delivered Feb. 14, 2009. Two days later a serviceman came to finish installing the dishwasher and I complained to him about the washer spin cycles being so loud, sounds like an airplane taking off and he said the machine wasn't level so he leveled it. I told him the guy who set it up showed me with a small level that it was level on all four sides so I wouldn't have a problem with vibration or movement. He had No answer to that. Nothing changed.
Today, March 10, 2009 I called Queen City and told the store manager that the problem still exist'. He said Joe would call me and set up an appointment this afternoon. It's midnight and he did not call today. I am not impressed with the washer or the dealer at this point!
I am a disabled lady who lives by myself and usually only wash three loads a week. If it moves around my laundry room like this with me just how bad would it be for a family.
The salesperson and the store manager knew I was replacing a working washing machine and a working dishwasher because I wanted machines that were quiet and I wouldn't hear them. The spin cycle on the washer is louder than my previous washer ever thought about being. I would not recommend this washer unless you don't mind the noise, vibration and putting it back in place after every load. I cannot attempt to move this heavy thing! The Bosch dishwasher is great (don't even know it's on), no problems at all. Wish me luck...
Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Cons: WORTHLESS
We purchased ours in July 2008. In December 2008, it also began the loud banging. The repair person from Best Buy, determined the inter Drum bracket that attaches the drum to the frame is broken. We have been waiting for the parts FROM WHIRLPOOL since 12/24/2008. IT IS ON BACK ORDER. I have spoken with a person from Whirlpool that was the rudest service person. THEY MUST KNOW this machine has major Defects. They do not care. I am extremely dissatisfied with Best Buy as well, for selling us this LEMON and NOT standing behind their customers
Pros: NONE
Cons: EVERYTHING
I purchased the whirlpool duet 4 years ago. when the machine was 2 years old I had to replace the pump. The service man had to come out three time before he could figure out what was wrong with the machine. The machine is loud and vibrates horribly.
Within four years the tub shaft broke and the service man told us it would cost 950.00 just for parts. the whole entire machine cost 1100.00 and it was going to cost 1300.00 (parts and labor ) to fix this worthless machine. When we called the Whirlpool people they said they would give us 10% off on another Whirlpool washer. Why would I buy another piece of junk. We bought a LG front end washer and it is by far a much better machine. Please do not buy anything from whirlpool and maybe they will get the hint.
Pros: none
Cons: terrible vibration
We bought a Duet Sport washer and dryer from Sears. We unpacked and set up our new pair according to the instructions. We leveled the machines perfectly on a solid tiled floor. The washer shakes very badly and makes a very loud whining noise. We called Sears and they sent out a repairman to investigate the problem. The repairman said all of these machines shake this badly and everyone complains about it. His report states that the washer works perfectly and if we want to return it we must pay a 15% restocking fee and deliver it ourselves to Sears or pay them $90 to pick it up. We are less than 2 miles away. We are very upset and can't understand why anyone would think these machines are ok. What we received is junk. Buyer beware.
