Pro Reviews: When the Wind Blows

  • All Music Guide

A more than slightly interesting effort that finds Waters playing film composer, albeit with a Radio K.A.O.S.-era sound. The music is dense, complex, structured as a one-act play in the context of the album. It and David Bowie's title song are the best points of this album -- the Genesis contribution is ho-hum, Squeeze boring, and Hugh Cornwell dreadful.
