The Secret History of Rock and Roll contains 100 original blues classics spread over four discs. The main function of this series is to shine a light on the roots of rock roll. It's a noble concept which sounds great due to the remastering of these tracks. Among the instantly recognizable tunes covered by rock bands of the '60s and '70s include "Baby, Please Don't Go" by Big Joe Williams; "Viola Lee Blues" by Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers; "Statesboro Blues" by Blind Willie McTell; "Stealin' Stealin'" by the Memphis Jug Band; "Good Morning School Girl" by Sonny Boy Williamson; and "That's All Right" and "My Baby Left Me," both by Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup. RCA also released these four discs separately.
