I've read some really terrible reviews of this movie and just can't really understand that. It seems to me that anyone who doesn't find this movie funny is just taking it way to seriously. Everyone I show it to thinks its amazing and it has become a ...cult classic among my friends. the worst response i got to it was someone who took it too seriously and didn't get it at all. Upon a second screening, with a little alcohol in the system to lighten him up, he realized just how amazing it is.definitely in my top 5 funniest movies of all time. F'in hilarious when it was funny

This movie was great. I laughed histarically the whole time. Waines humor is the greatest. All you do is laugh at where he comes up with some of this stuff. I did have a few problems with this movie though. I am a huge fan of the State. MTV rea...lly messed up by cancelling that show. But I have most of the episodes on tape (along with Sifl and Olly) My major beef with this movie, is they tried to hard to stay with the plot. The funny parts were like skits right out of the state. But there were parts, where I was staring, mouth open, waiting for something funny to happen, and nothing did... maybe for ten minutes, with no humor. I hated that. I wanted to see constant humor. Like American pie. One joke after the other, perfectly formulated, which I know Wain is capable of.The movie also doesn't really fit into the spoof category like so many people/critics put it in. When I think of spoof, I think of Scary movie where I can say "oh this is that part in scream", or "this is that part from sixth sense". This movie had very little of that, and basically focused on the humor of summer camp and the 80's, and not 80's summer camp movies. I hope that makes sense. The videography was perfect. They actually shot it perfectly to even look like a 1980 movie. scratchy film... reminded me of meatballs or something. It was great.There were some really funny scenes in it, ones that will stick in my head forever. The cook was great, and so was the motorcycle scene. I would try to explain them, but it isn't possible to explain. I have tried, and no one really gets it. I was also dissapointed in the talent show at the end. They could have done so much more with that scene, but it flopped... although the announcer was pretty good. The trip into town was funny... it was a funny movie. If you were a fan of the state (like me) you will love this movie, and prob. watch it a few times just to make sure you get everything. (watch the deleted scenes were the director is yelling at the counselors by the truck... now look behind them... bet you didn't notice that.) Stuff like that makes you want to watch the movie over and over. If you aren't a fan of the state (my girlfriend) you will hate this movie prob. complain through the whole thing. And say you lost IQ points by watching it. It all depends on what your into.Oh yeah, one more thing. If you are going to give a movie the rated R rating great. If you are going to say it's rated R for strong sexual situations... even better. If you are going to do both of those, and never show so much as a boob.... that is kind of crappy. Especially when the main theme of the movie was summer camp/getting laid. Other then that (I know I sound like a pig) it was a good movie. Very funny. Read more Less

i really liked this movie, even though i'm really young, i enjoyed this movie very much! I think that anyone over the age of 16 would enjoy this movie!
