DO NOT BUY THIS -- YOU'LL BE SORRY
Pros: Good out of the Box
Cons: Poor Quality
I purchased this product in August 2006. The TV was good out of the box. I thought it was a great TV for the price. But, I have owned this set now for 15 months -- just outside of the warranty of 12 months. The TV screen is deteriorating with streaks forming vertically down the screen. The streaks are apparently a failure of the liquid crystals in the display as the streaks are digital in nature. I fear that the set will be useless in a few months -- currently the 1080p clarity has been compromised by the deterioration. It is obvious to me that the way Westinghouse is able to sell this set at such a low price is because they sacrificed quality -- in fact, Westinghouse admitted in a letter to me that they expect a failure rate of 2% due to defects in materials. I am not a plant -- I am an actual customer. I suggest ... DO NOT BUY THIS SET OR ANY OTHER SIMILAR WESTINGHOUSE LCD HDTV. You risk just throwing your money down the toilet.

Cons: poor craftmanship
The screen died after 13 months due to a video circuit failure. westinghouse would not back up their product and said sorry the warranty expired. they only solution they offered was to have a repair shop fix it. I took it to a repair shop and we tried to purchase a video circuit from westinghouse but they would only sell the whole circuit board and after parts and labor it would cost $600. So I just bought a new one from costco. Also I boughht it at best buy and they were not helpful at all, especially the geek squad - they stink.

There is an old saying...You get what you pay for.
In this case it's not true. You get way, way,way more! I'm really saticfied with this TV. Playing games on it is great. I just wish that it had more then one HDMI out put but it's o.k.

bought tv a few weeks ago and so far the picture quality and ease of use is incredible, my son has been using it for his xbox 360 for gaming using the vga output set to 1920x1080 and just a few days ago we got the hd-dvd player addon and were very pleased with how it looks compare to the other high priced 1080p tv comparable...
