still packs a wallop
The Weber Baby Q looks much like the innovative Weber Q with the same unique, futuristic design, and it packs the same grilling wallop underneath its durable cast aluminum lid. Just like its parent product, the Weber Baby Q grill is vastly different than most portable grills. While ordinary portable grills are griddles (a solid, flat, heated surface), the Weber Q and Baby Q trade; are true grills: they both have a P-shaped burner tube that emits open flames under a porcelain-enameled, cast-iron cooking grate—both working together to sear and smoke food to delectable doneness.

super light but it still can't fly
The Baby Q is super-portable and is even lighter and more compact. The Baby Q weighs just 35 pounds and takes up less than two-thirds the storage space of the original Weber Q. At only 14" high, 27" wide and 16" deep it's roughly the size of a toaster oven, only a whole lot more cooking power!

perfect in a pinch
The new Weber Baby Q is "perfect" for tailgaters who don't need the original Weber Q's whopping 280 square-inch cooking area (the Baby Q's cooking area is 189 square inches) and for RV users who have a small, onboard stowage space. Singles and couples will also appreciate the convenient, stowable power of the Weber Baby Q—perfect for a tasty grilled meal for two.

    Pros: Even heat

Cons: Can't use coleman gas cartridge

I go drag racing all the time and we always barbecue. I am tired of the cheap charcoal grills nothing but problems flimsy, etc. I have a weber grill at home that is fantastic never a problem and durable so I figured why not. I was suprised it is well... built and not cheap. The heat is fast and even. I even use it as an extra grill when we have a big barbecue at my house. Highly recomend!!!!! Read more Less

    love the Baby Q

By cornelia  Jul 15, 2006 | 1 out of 1 found this Weber Baby Q 386001 review helpful

Pros: quick to heat, quick to cook, fantastic taste, just like a big charcoal one.

Cons: does not use the little standard coleman green camping propane tank.

After seeing it at our friends in action and being amazed, I mentioned it to relatives, who then gave one to me as a b'day present. It cooks as quickly and tastily as I expected. No more stovetop or oven cooking meat and veggies for me.
