    The Ramones were probably the greatest punk band ever with their humorous lyrics and 3-minute sonic blasts. This tribute features a number of interesting artists doing their own take on the godfathers of punk. I think the songs that work best here ar...e the ones that tried to do something different with the music. The Red Hot Chili Peppers laid back Havana Affair is easily one of the albums highlights. Rob Zombie's metalized Blitzkrieg Bop comes in a close second. Marilyn Manson's take on The KKK Took My Baby Away is easily the oddest cut on the album with it's creepy vocals and synth background. Other artists like Green Day, Rancid, and The Offspring played fun renditions of classic tunes that pretty much mirror the originals. Overall this is a fitting tribute to a band that was never afraid to be different. Read more Less
