Keyshia Cole is aiight
Pros: Nice to OK beat on most songs.
Cons: Nothing impressive
I first decided to buy this cd after hearing so many people were rave about Keyshia Cole's album. I picked it up and liked most of the songs on the album. One thing that irked me were some of the song lyrics few can relate to. I really do not like the song, "I should have cheated." Again, its a good cd despite some of the content

Now i like a little up tempo here and there but she has a beautiful voice that would sound so much better if she does more songs like love. Everyone cant start their first cd with a whole bunch of up tempo songs. The songs could have made more sense. Now because shes my firl i baught her cd anyway. Hopefully the next one will be better.

I went to her concert when she was here in Minneapolis. I enjoyed my self the place was packed but she could have song more than 6 song three was her's and three was of other song writer.

Cons: some of the beats kinda sound the same
My sister is a member of one of the music clubs and she got this CD but never heard of her and was not interested in hearing it so I took it from her cause I had heard that first single "Over and over" but I have since listened to the entire CD and have a couple other singles that I truly enjoy like "I shoulda cheated" "superstar" and my favorite song on thie CD is "love". There is a song can't remember the name which she does with Eve it is the last track on the CD it is great.

The Way It Is, turned out to be a really good album. I was really on the fence with buying this record, having only heard (I Just Want It) To Be Over on the radio. I didn't want to spend money on a one hit album. Turns out Keyshia cole producers put out a really good record. Fresh and emotional. Lyrics consistent. "Situations" track nine is just HOT. Definatly a Hot R&B album to go get.

For a debut album, it seems relatively pop-ish. Very good for those who are swept up in the movements, but lacking a critical edge.
The producers gave her a reasonable accompaniment to begin with, however, her voice does not stand out from the music. There are many times when she cannot seem to handle the strain. If it was done purposefully, it would have been consistent, but there are moments that when one hears what the sounds should have been. I am not yet willing to give up on her, (as many of the pop-divas tend to fave after 2-3 years anyway) however, this first standard will not stand up to success without improvement.Was this review helpful? This is the hottest album out there period. I am not sure who her publicist is, but they need to be fired. Definite award winning material. It should have been much higher on the charts and in sales. It did not get the promotion it deserved until the 4th release was dropped, and all of them were great. Buy it!!

*~This girl has a wonderful voice. And her album is a go-getter!!! Every song is wonderful. It's a CD I can listen to over and over, and not skip any tracks, 4real! I can relate to her through her music. U gotta cop this if U don't already have it. I'm playing it now-lol!~*
