    Best Beat Folk Rock

    This group is one of the most overlooked goups in music. They had a sound that was ahead of its time. The vocal harmonies are amazing and the songwriting is as good or better than most of the songs on the radio today. I can't recommend this album... or this group enough.     The Squares resurrect boldly sung 60s folk/pop harmonies and try to reinvoke the political spirit that went with them on such songs as "New Generation" and "You Are Not Alone." Such an ambition can't really be realized 20 years later, but in the meantime, the music is stirring.
