I have been a Herman Wouk fan since reading (regretably) in reverse order his epics "The Winds of War" and "War and Remebrance." I bought the boxed set of both, including "War and Remembrance about 10 years ago, and still enjoy watching it. It is a ...true classic, although under-appreciated work, both in its novel and mini-series form. Remarkably accurate historically with actors portraying actual historical characters with un-canny accuracy. A great tool to teach younger generations about a truly remarkable period during the last century. I hope they come out with a DVD form before my tapes wear out.I am also hoping they will eventually do a video version of Wouk's later epic -- "The Hope", and "The Glory" -- unlikely, because of its interested to a relatively few people interested in this history of the resurection of modern Israel and the history since its founding. Pros: interesting subject

Cons: to expensive, split set

Too expensive are a pratial mini-series...pure greed to split it into 2 sets... no thanks
