This movie is absolutely Excellent !!!! with a great soundtrack done by the actors Pheonix & Witherspoon themselves, and i admit they sound really great ... Didn't hear much about Johnny Cash before this movie, but afterwards i found myself listening to some of his songs and thinking of buying the soundtrack ... It's the success story of famous american singer Johnny Cash (1932-2003) and his wife June Carter, how they began and how they fell in love ... Phoenix & Witherspoon in a performance deserving an Oscar, especially in the song (Time's A Wasting) ... Script is professionally written, and so are the songs that will live forever ... Let the music play as you Walk the Line ...

This was 1 of the best movies I had ever seen! My family just loved it! We have watched this movie so many times I lost count! If you need a GREAT movie to watch get this one! It will be worth it! I didn't know that you could tell someones life story so well! #1 pick in my opinion!

This movie has a great story line. I'm curious if this is a true depiction as I don't really know a lot about Johnny Cash's personal life. The love story was pretty good even though I'm not the sappy drama type. Great music.

This was a wonderfully done portrait of Johnny Cash and his life. To me Joaquin Pheonix does aa a mesmerizing role as Jamie Foxx did in "Ray" and I would rate it just as high. And Reese Witherspoon did a fantastic job of playing June Carter Cash. It received applause when I saw it in the theatre. I am not a huge country music fan but can appreciate the artist Johnny Cash. So even if you are not a big fan of this musical genre you can still enjoy the movie! I bought it because it was just a great film!

The movie is about Johnny Cash's life. From beginning to when he got on the straight and narrow. I recommend for any Johnny Cash Fan.

Cons: 'Hurt' should have played over the closing credits
I'm so glad that this movie was made and it was a hit. Now I can stop hiding the fact that I've bootlegged copies of his video 'Hurt' since it came out.
You don't have to be a fan of Johnny Cash to enjoy this. I'm not and I did. Of course, there is the confession of the 'Hurt' song that he made just before his death...how fitting, like someone that knew their number was up.
It's a reminder of what Big Kenny and John Rich recently told us...Rock 'n Roll used to be about Johnny Cash. They didn't focus on the fact that he was initially refused in Nashville because he was R&R. Watching it, you have a lightbulb pop over your head when you remember some of the trivial facts about the singer in black. I think they should have mentioned his TV show. but it was a good movie, and I finally liked Reese Weatherspoon since SFW. I recommend watching it. Treat it like one of the blockbuster features you'd watch together and you might even pick up that's it's a complete love story. Watch it alone and you can watch it without that interfering.
