The 69 Boyz don't change their tune on The Wait Is Over, the follow-up to their hit debut, 199Quad. That's both a good and bad thing. It's good, since lead boy Van "Thrill da Playa" Bryant can craft an incredible bass track, keeping the party rolling from beginning to end. It's bad because it shows no artistic progression, nor any sign that Bryant will continue to develop his sound. That, however, turns out to be a minor point, because "art" is the furthest thing from anyone's mind when The Wait Is Over is playing. Every cut on the album has a deep bass heavy groove, and while some are more memorable than others, it all adds up to a good time.
