WCW Mayhem PlayStation

Not only has it achieved mainstream success, it has now become the hottest ticket in videogaming; WCW Mayhem is no exception. As the brainchild of juggernaut development company Electronic Arts and Kodiak Interactive Software Studios, WCW Mayhem offers players a look inside the often chaotic world of wrestling.

Over fifty ~WCW wrestlers grace WCW Mayhem's roster including Goldberg, Sting, Diamond Dallas Page, Hollywood Hogan, and ~Slim Jim spokesman Macho Man Randy Savage. Additionally, each wrestler's entrance theme has been included complete with pyrotechnics and other special effects. Goldberg enters to "Invasion" while Dallas Page comes out with 'Self Hi-Five" complete with trademark hand motions.

All of the authentic wrestling moves have been included with each superstar's signature finishing move intact. Moves can be executed by using one of the four buttons on your controller in conjunction with the directional pad. WCW Mayhem's instruction manual goes into detail as to how these moves are utilized.

Up until now, wrestling games have stayed near the ringside area, never exploring the backstage areas. WCW Mayhem changes this; it allows wrestlers to take a brawl to areas outside the right without a fear of being disqualified or counted out. These areas include alleyways, backstage areas, locker rooms, etc – each of which has a plethora of weapons to use such as tables, chairs, trashcans, taser guns, and a kitchen sink.

WCW Mayhem comes with a create-a-wrestler option; players can choose his or her name, skin color, weight, moves, etc. Each ~WCW television event has been included as well as the more action packed pay-per-view events. ~ Gabriel Smith, All Game Guide
