    Amazing movie

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Dec 22, 2008

Pros: Hardly any speaking and still wildly enjoyable

Cons: There isn't another 5 hours to watch

This movie was one of the best movies I have seen and it was animated. Everything about it was top notch...from the animation, to the story, to the sound. Many times it looked like a real movie. I recommend it for anybody.

    Pros: Story

Cons: Small kids with short attention spans will find it hard to follow

My family loved this movie. I have a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old and both really enjoyed it. The 2 yr old had a tough time staying with it but it was very enjoyable.

    Wall-E A Rare Miss For Disney/Pixar Partnership

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Nov 18, 2008 | 0 out of 3 found this WALL-E (2008) review helpful

Pros: The animation is oustanding. It has shown a real growth in the ability of animators to combine live action and CG animation.

Cons: The movie is far too preachy. And the somewhat post apocalyptic setting may be too much for some younger audiences to handle.

Disney and Pixar are two of the most well known and successful companies currently in the movie industry. The partnership between the two companies has spawned hit after hit since the creation of the companies’ first joint movie, ‘Toy Story.’ While the partnership between the two companies has spawned a number of hits, there have been at least a couple of misses. Wall-E is one of those rare misses.

The movie is one part ‘Short Circuit’ and one part ‘Captain Planet and The Planeteers’ (how many of you out there remember that old cartoon?) The concept of artificial intelligence is nothing new. Neither is the concept of man’s dependency on machines and the resultant effect. The movie portrays what may happen to mankind when we become so dependant on machines that all we do is sit around while we even travel from point ot point. That combined with the eco-preaching makes for a movie that is a rare miss for the partnership of Disney and Pixar.

Even for a movie that is rated “G”, younger audiences may have some trouble grasping the setting of a somewhat post-apocalyptic Earth in which mankind has left for the stars due to his own wastefulness. It might even scare some younger audiences seeing such a setting.

For all the negatives of this movie, there is at least one positive. That positive is in the animation. While Wall-E was computer generated (like too many other animated movies nowadays), the animators’ ability to mix computer animation with real life was impressive. This kind of animation is something movie companies have been trying to perfect since the days of ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit.’ Disney and Pixar have shown just how far that technique has come since those days.

Wall-E is not the best movie that has come from the partnership of Disney and PIxar. If anything, it is far from being the companies’ best release. It falls short because of the “preachiness” and the possible unsettling nature of the very setting. But the fun little gags and the animation make for a movie that is worth at least one watch.
