Pros: you will be still dancing when the cd is over
Cons: chemical orgy is a given
Oakenfold blows up the cd just like Owsley..for those in the know Owsley made all the righteous LSD in the 60s that was expanding the way the youth danced in the Summer of Love..then along came Shulgin another chemist fom the west who started making an old drug from the 40s by a company called Merck...it was MDMA or Empathy if you were a therapist...Just like LSD leaked from the intellectuals and CIA crowd of the 50s MDMA became the choice of a new generation and Oakenfold had the musical formula...Resident and Tranceport are also standard rave classics Voage defines the scene...the opening track samples a paramedics warning of the danger of XTC just like the Brown Acid stage announcements of Woodstock...and it just goes deeper as the cd unOAKENfolds..Teleport ups the ante into GOA bliss allowing the dancers to move in beats made for shaman...blew up the minds of Track 9 signals that moment when the X kicks in a the uer blows up barely able to do anything but grind the teeth roll the eyes back and holdon as the love jettisons thru like a chemical rollercoaster...fat Buddha is subtle but still popping over 140bpm and when the last track LSD begins its unraveling you hear
'I believe with the advent of acid we discovered new way to think and it had to do with piecing together new thoughts of mind. Why is it that people think it's so evil? What is it about it that there is scares people so deeply? Because they are afraid that there is more to reality than they have ever confronted. That there are doors that they're afraid to go in and they don't want us to go in there either because if we go in, there we might learn something that they don't know. And that makes us a little out of their control.' Ken Kesey soundbyte
'He's losing his mind, and feels it going!'
'You're intoduced to lsd, an' it's not like taking some other drug for instance like marijuana or something, hm, well, you know, it's altogether a new thing, and you actually can have a religious experience, and, hm, and it can be even more important than reading the bible six times or becoming a pope or something like that, you know...'
Ken Keseys son probably no more than 14yrs old telling someone who has never been in a altered state the LSD trip in the midst of the acids rush
