    Pros: brutality well mixed with melody

    After picking up the new album at their signing down in St. Louis, all i can think about is how great these guys have done to come back to the top of the metal world. Version 3 has been everything that i hoped it would be and more. To everybody that ...thought Heavy Metal was coming to an end, I only have one thing to say.......... WE'RE BACK Read more Less

    Pros: Good varitey of ups and downs

    Cons: some of it is a little soft for the hardcore buffs

    OVERALL GOOD CD, SOUNDS LIKE THEY PUT SOME TIME AND EFFORT IN THIS ALBUM. CATCHY HOOKS, KILLER FLOWS AND OF COURSE BAD A$$ DRUMS! A FEW SONGS ARE A LITTLE SOFT ( MORE OF A STONE SOUR SOUND) BUT STILL GOOD!

    Pros: The record (CD) captures their LOUD sound

    Cons: I cant think of even one at all! Truthfully!

    Let;s get right to the point. I fyou like hard rock that has a new current sound (examples such as singing that is sometimes almost like a growling sound but still has melodic notes, guitars that are played super fast and also with heaviness, etc., d...rums also) than you must follow the muisic of SLIPKNOT. They came from Iowa to conquer the world of hard rock and this album is not exeception. No one - or very few - of today's current bands are able to speak the truth of today's current world (which includes bad times, ugliness, sickness: in other words, the true current headlines of today, people!!!1) with such an amount of almost poetry like qualities. PLUS they finally cut the heaviness with well=placed humorous songs like "Carson Daly". But they always rock. They have never rocked harder than songs like "Blood of Despair" or "Everything Broke One Day" and on the 18-minute closing song "Prospectus 2: The REturn of Gloom". Upbeat and unpretentious this is the first GREAT album of the summer of 2004. Read more Less

    Pros: All new sound and power brought with a Slipknot vibe

    Cons: absolutely nothing

    ive heard all this stuff about them being mainstream now and im not buying it. ive heard Duality, Pulse of the Maggots, The Nameless, and The Blister Exists. Well, no complaints here. Melodic and heavy, im lovin it.

    Pros: really cool, not short

    Cons: not as action packed as the firsts...but still great

    this is a long rockin' cd that is unlike all the new cd's coming out. its over an hour and its awesome all the way. they do get slow this cd with a couple acustic songs, but good none-the-less. "Duality", "Blister Exists",... "Opium of the People", and "Vermilion, Pt. 2" are some of my favorites. "Pulse of the Maggets" is ok. A very different cd compared to the other 2.     This cd was the turning point for Knot that will definintly get the the reconition they fully deserve. With the dark melodolic sounds and great lyrics its one of the best cd's i own.Even though quite different from the rest of their stuff it is a... great edge for them to show that metal doesnt always have to be vulgur and obsene. This cd is great for any metal fan and will definitly blow you f@&$ing mind away wit wat they have done with this.     Cons: wtf ? it's supposed to be Slipknot !!!

    Just bought the cd and the first impression is not good. I know they're going to lose a lot of hardcore fans with this. I already hear some saying that they're taking the Metallica road, and this one is straight downhill, and for at least for... 15 years.I feel uneasy when I hear songs like Duality, and there are quite a few ones on this cd. It seems they're going for a wider audience.Even the hardest songs sound quite cheesy compared to Slipknot and Iowa. Slipknot were quite unique in the sheer brutality of their music. Do we really need another band trying to mix aggression and melody?Sorry maggots, this is a heartbreaker. I would even say borrow it or download it before you buy it. Read more Less

    Pros: eh... a few things...

    Cons: Sold out.

    This cd wasn't heavy like all the new fans put it out to be. The band itself is getting more publicity then their music. Corey is a jerk. The best album by them in the heavier catigory would be Iowa. Slipknot (self titled) was good too... This cd... was the worst of all, it hits new metal and the sell out rock sh!t you hear on the radio. Read more Less
