    Anybody who likes this sort of opera singing -- like Bocelli's -- is settling for second best. Let me make an analogy: Imagine that for the same price could buy a Fiat or a Ferrari but the Ferrarri could carry more people, never broke down, used les...s gas, went twice as fast, was more comfortable, turned more heads, and was more crashworthy. I have just compared Watson to any real opera tenor, like Domingo, Cura, Alvarez, Bergonzi, etc.Watson's voice is a pure product of the microphone and the electronic reverb. He should stick to pop where his instrument -- meger though it is -- is a vast improvement on the competition.David Richie Read more Less

    I am a great fan of the tenor voice, and Russell Watson is indeed an extraordinary talent. He is able to sing beautifully in a variety of styles with incredible range and flexibility. If I could only own one CD, this would be the likely choice.

    Someone once said a world without music would be a mistake. For me a world without the music of Russell Watson would be unthinkable. I've been a fan of his ever since Voice hit the States. It's so rare to find a voice that can sing arias so master...fully and jump right into pop songs such as Bridge Over Troubled Waters with such ease.     I have just heard Russell Watson for the first time on "Good Morning America" and I am absolutely hooked! I remember when I heard Andrea Bocelli and Elvis Presley (I was 10 then)for the first time also. These are voices that I consider to be straig...ht from heaven's gates. A little known fact about Elvis is that he was an admirer of the great Italian singers such as Mario Lanza and especially Enrico Caruso. Have you ever heard him sing "Santa Lucia"? Russell Watson, I love your beautiful voice and your new age approach to classical music! A younger generation will follow your voice anywhere and the black leather jacket doesn't hurt either!!
