Vivitar ViviCam 3640 Digital Camera

The V3640 is equipped with a 2 mega-pixel CCD image sensor. The simplicity of operation coupled with an auto focus lens makes for a perfect picture every time. The auto focus lens is complemented with a macro mode, as well as continuous 3X digital zoom capability based upon ADZ technology. ADZ (Advanced step-less Digital Zoom) allows the photographer to select any digital zoom level from 1X to 3X in a smooth and continuous fashion - emulating optical zoom. Digital zoom is not only limited to still image capture on the V3640. In Video mode one can zoom to 2X, and image playback zoom is supported to 4X. Images may be reviewed on the 1.5" color TFT-type LCD display. In addition to capturing digital still images, the V3640 can also record video clips - up to one minute in duration.

The V3640 offers imaging versatility. Users may select from five resolutions and quality settings for their images. Whereas the native resolution of the V3640 is 2 MP - you may elect to capture images at 3 megapixels using processing internal to the camera. Resolution modes include 2048 x 1536 (3 MP interpolation), 1600 x 1200 (native resolution), and 800 x 600 (XGA resolution). Images from the V3640 are ideal for print, email, or web applications. The V3640 can also capture Motion JPEG video clips up to one-minute at a resolution of 320 x 240 in AVI format. In addition to video capture, the V3640 can be used with your PC as a PC/web cam. The V3640 can provide live video up to 15 fps at 320 x 240, or 30 fps at 160 x 120 to your PC by USB.

The V3640 features automatic shooting mode with the additional ability to specify any one of four white balance settings, and adjust exposure compensation. The V3640 produces images that are ready for display or print. Images captured at full resolution yield outstanding prints up to 8" x 10". Images from the V3640 maybe viewed and downloaded in the V3640 Image Gallery. The V3640 features a built-in four-mode flash that includes red-eye reduction. Other features of the V3640 include a 10-second self-timer and a tripod-mounting socket. The V3640 comes with both USB and video output cables to download images for viewing and/or editing. Windows Me, 2000, and XP users will enjoy native support for the V3640. Simply connect the V3640 to your ME/200/XP PC and access your images immediately - no drivers or software are required for basic functionality. The V3640 multi-lingual camera interface menus are available in six languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. Video output can accommodate either NTSC or PAL systems, making the V3640 a truly International camera. 2 AA alkaline batteries supply power whereas built-in power saving logic automatically turns-off the camera to conserve battery power.
