Viva Voce formed in Nashville, TN, in 1998, comprising vocalist Anita Robinson, drummer and keyboardist Kevin Robinson, and bassist Mark. Conceptualizing profound themes evolving on grinding musical scenarios, the indie rock ensemble exposed its own skillful style of alternative rock. The group's undeniable creative aptness marked their status at the local music scene, and in 1998 Voce decided to record their debut album. Hooray for Now definitely established the band's mark on Nashville's indie scene, at the same time strengthening the trio's considerable following. Exposing their creations beyond the state area, Viva Voce began playing consecutive dates on a one year tour taking them throughout the U.S. and Canada. Following the extended live concert excursion during which they supported bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Voce entered the studio to record their second disc. The Weightless EP, issued in 2000, affirmed again the unit's national following.
