This gritty, firstperson shooter sequel is designed to present another unflinching, insider's look at the War in Vietnam. Focusing on the Tet Offensive, Vietcong 2 is set near the city of Hue, where a traditional New Year's cease fire was broken in a surprise uprising that ended the lives of many soldiers. Single players take the role of a Special Forces operative who is responsible for escorting an American journalist who is in the country to cover the ceasefire celebrations. A second campaign allows play from the Vietcong perspective, casting players as a young draftee who rises through the ranks to become a Sergeant, who leads his squad to attack the Presidential Palace during the January 1968 assaults Multiplayer modes are available as well, with cooperative play for up to eight against computercontrolled opponents, and playerversusplayer competition for as many as 64. ~ T.J.
