Most of us would not get the "genre" catagory of Jerry Lee's music being listed as "n/a" - what's that about anyway? Genre? Cut me a break, he's the Barron of Boogie, the Marquis of Madness, the Prince of Passion - JERRY LEE LEWIS IS ROCK AND ROLL. ...Genre? Rock and Roll! Or how about Rock-a-Billy? Or even Hard Rock. For crying out loud, this guy has never left his rock roots, even when he fled to C&W for survival. You do not understand Jerry Lee Lewis, you have not heard Jerry Lee Lewis, you are not a Jerry Lee fan, and you cannot stop yourself from becoming one until you have listened to The Ultimate Jerry Lee Lewis Box Set. Buy it NOW, and the "Killer" will grab your rock-n-roll soul and you'll never get free!Yeah, Jerry Lee has a "past", he is totally unrepentent for his music. His sound will shake you naked and eat you alive. Once you've heard the sound, the rhythm, the lyrics, the beat his public behavior becomes meaningless. This guy is the pentultimate American music artist. He's the Marlon Brando of sound, the Andy Warhol of words. Do yourself a favor - block out a couple of hours to experience real rock and roll royalty!!! Do it Today!!! Do it now! Read more Less

  • All Music Guide

This doubledisc 48track collection contains several of the biggest hits by Jerry Lee Lewis originally released on Sun Records in the late '50s and early '60s including "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Great Balls of Fire," "Breathless," and "High School Confidential." Disc two of this set focuses on a crosssection of the Killer's earliest country sides including "Release Me," "I Love You So Much It Hurts," "I Can't Help It (If I'm Still in Love With You)," and "Waiting for a Train." These tracks provide a preview of what was to come in the early '70s when Jerry Lee began recording straight honky tonk material for the Smash label.

Biography

Jerry Lee Lewis

Is there an early rock roller who has a crazier reputation than the Killer, Jerry Lee Lewis? His exploits as a piano-thumping egocentric wild man with an unquenchable thirst for living have become the fodder for numerous biographies, film documentaries, and a full-length Hollywood movie. Certainly few other artists came to the party with more ego and talent than he and... Read more
