Pros: all the hits
Cons: missing some prime cuts
i spent the weekend listening to the cd. i wont purchase it as i already have everything here. its inclusion of some of the live material doesnt work well. i'd would of enjoyed the 12" of big love thamn the live "the dance". i would have enjoyed "farmer's daughter" than "go insane". id rather have the live version of "sara" than the edited tusk version. christine mcvie is underrepresented. "brown eyes", "over and over", "do you know" and "warm ways" are missing. still it is better than the "greatest hits" compliation of 88. of course there is no bob welch or danny kirwan on here which is criminal. this is supposed to be a "best of".
Very Best of Fleetwood Mac(Enhanced)(Fleetwood Mac) A great collection of your hits. Brings back some great memories. Named my daughter after one of your songs, entitled "Sara" only differance is the spelling. She spells it Sarah. Also it's great to see you back in concert. I wish you all great sucess. Thanks for your musical visit with this over 50 year old young man. Sincerly, Richard W. Wallace.
The music stands the test of time but why include edited singles of some songs and not the full album versions?
I'm a die hard fan & can never get enough Fleetwood Mac stuff! This is a great compilation of songs from the best band in the world! I'm reallyyyyyyy looking forward to their 2003 studio release & their upcoming tour! Rock on Fleetwood Mac!
You can never get enough!
How could this not be worth five stars? Sure there is no early stuff, but what's here is classic pop rock. It's a nice addition to anyone's CD collection.
This is total greed.
I haven't heard the Album Yet, and I'm a little wary of buying it. I have the 4 disc box set The Chain/25 years I'd like to know what exactly is "Enhanced" about this collection? I'm looking forward to some new stuff from the band, but will be dissapointed if Christine McVie decides not to be involved or if she decides not to tour( Mac concert just wouldn't be the same without Christine closing the ecores with "Songbird)
A good choice of Fleetwood Macs best recordings. Makes a nice tribute to Christine McVie and how important her music was to the group. The enhanced CD is a valuable tool for die-hard Mac fans. Rock On Mac, Rock On! Looking forward to the Spring of 2003 and there new studio release!
Amazing that they should overlook Welch's "hypnotized" from "mystery to me" - but a good selection nevertheless. Got your Nicks, Buckingham and McVie's in place.
12 reviews and not one has commented on the "Enhanced" features of the set. So,i can assume that no-one has actually reviewed This particular version.
Yes,there was "The Chain",a 4 CD Best of including the Peter Green era. There was also a 2 CD version of Highlights from this set.
This "Enhanced" issue is aimed at the Xmas market.
Now you know what to buy the Fleetwood Mac fan who has everything, including a PC!
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Mac, but this is pretty much a combo of Rumours and the Greatest Hits album...still it's way much better than the "music" out there today. Hopefully artists and groups taht are influenced by artists such as Fleetwood Mac will stop tyring to make hits by covering their songs but instead try to infuse their sound with their sound...oh well. Been a Mac fan since '86 (i was 4 at the time)
I can accept the fact that the Peter Green/Jeremy Spencer/Bob Welch eras are not represented even though there is much un-remastered music from those days waiting to see the light of day. However, what puzzles me is why Save Me and Love is Dangerous were omitted when they are clearly better songs than some of the ones that are included.
Hold Me wasn't good enough for the box set, yet it made it onto this anthology, which is OK. It would have been nice to include Tango In The Night, which is one of my favorite FM tunes.
I think FM has picked a great selection of songs from all their post '74 year. As for the 2 live songs. If it is from "The Dance" then they are definitely better than the studio versions. More emotion. More energy.
FM has been out of the spot light for a number of years, and having to compete with the "new pop" is going to be hard. But a great band will tryumph over everything.
Didn't think they were ever going to reunite, until Clinton came along.
Can't wait to hear the new stuff, and hopefully Christine will reconsider and join the band.
I would have bought this CD had it not been for the fact that "Big Love" is a live version. It is so typical for artists to include at least 1 version of one of their hit songs that renders the CD useless to me. I will keep and continue to listen the greatest hits that I have now.
I would buy this if it werent the fact they used the live "Big Love" rather than the superior original 80s version. this is my favorite Mac song and the live vesrion is not the same at all. One flaw..but enough to put me off..I'll go back to my unremastered "Greatest Hits" cd from years ago..which has most of these hits.
Great songs, yes. Another typical compilation of hits, yes. So why bother?? Bring on some new stuff!
I am somewhat disappointed with this track listing as I was part of a survey that actaully decided which tracks were gobe on this collection. It's a shame that "Black Magic Woman", "Oh Well, part 1" and "Hypnotized" are not present. With that being said, it is still the best 2-disc collection available from one of the best bands of all time!
a few years back fleetwood mac released a box set called 25 years the chain . this set included songs before nicks and buckingham joined as well as songs when buckingham left the group. its a four disc set very good for those who wish to here the realy early stuff. but being that i became a fan when nicks and buckingham joined am looking forward to the new best of collection.
they should do it right. As usual - no early "Mac." Yeah, yeah...the "Big Mac" are the Nicks/McVie/Buckingham days, but how many times can they repackage themselves, anyway?
One other thing I'm a bit weary of is the addition of "Live" versions of the hits. I don't mind if both studio -- then live versions are used, but really --- if it's a best of...then use what was charted and familiar.
I'd love to give just one record company marketing and/or compilation "genius" a swift kick in his or her ass.
Finally All Fleetwood Mac Hit's on Two CD's!!
Now I don't have to keep switching from CD to CD!! This is a Great Idea not to mention a Kick Ass Collection of Killer songs by all the band members, including my two favorite members...Lindsey and Stevie!!! This Rocks!!!
So ... did "Oh Well" and "Black Magic Woman" never happen? This is a shocking disgrace. It is akin to issuing a Van Halen greatest hits, and only having the Gary Cherone-era hits on it.
