    Cons: Track 11

Most 16 year olds would get laughed at if they told a friend that they were listening to the a Veggietales CD. But if that happens to you, just let your friends hear the music.-The Water Buffalo Song is just a funny song.-The Hairbrush Song is an sat...irical operatic performance buy many of the Veggietales characters. Larry the Cucumber can not find his hairbrush, "shocked and slightly embarassed at the sight of Larry in towel," other Veggietales characters go through the song explaining the whole story of Larry's Hairbrush. -The Dance of the Cucumber is an "authentic Argentinian ballad" While Larry sings in espanol, while Bob the Tomato translate in English, when he realizes he is being insulted in Spanish, ending in a chase scene.-I Love my Lips the song of Larry's love for his lips, with a scatting solo, it is a very catchy tune-The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything very catchy you'll sing the chorus for days. They've never been to Boston in Fall, and Larry has never kissed a chipmunk which is nonsense, according to Cap N Crunch (you'll see when you hear)-The Song of the Cebu mixes African beats with Carribean sounds to produce a silly song about Cebu "its kind of like a cow" says Larry. Listen to the excellent voice of Junior Asparagus-His Cheeseburger is the best track on the CD. A 50s love song devoted to "his precious cheeseburger" the only song not sung mainly by Larry. This song is sung by a very enthusiastic Mr Lunt. With female chorus in the background you will lvoe this song-The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps along with Endagered Love are two of the weaker tracks on the album but the former includes a barberhsop Quartet and yodeling by everyones favorite cucumber. The former joins larry following the tragedy of the daytime drama "Endagered Love" I dont like this one you might though-Funiculi Funicula and O Sole Mio mixed together gives you Larry's High Silk Hat. A song that makes you feel like your in a pizza shop listening to Italian singers very catchy.-Lost Puppies is sung by Miss Achmetha, skip over this one if you cant stand a horrible voice, trying to be funny, the brilliant Mike Nawrocki fails for the only time in the entire album.-Oh Santa is a funny song also.-Do the Moo Shoo unfortunately the song is only 42 seconds long, but fortunatley it is not more than a minute the eightiesesque rap song sounds a lot like the popular dance song "Do the Hustle" but you will like, as Mr Lunt and Larry read the chinese restaraunt menu-The Remix is really cool. If you liked the album you will love the remiz medley. Read more Less

Pro Reviews: VeggieTales: Silly Songs With Larry

  • All Music Guide

Silly Songs With Larry is a delight for the whole family. Unlike many children's albums that might make their grownups want to run screaming after a couple of listens, Silly Songs With Larry is clever, with aural treats that will be appreciated by adults as well as their kids. Silly Songs is taken directly from segments of the Veggie Tales cartoons by the same name. Hosted by Larry the Cucumber, they are songs with no moral attached. They're just, well, silly, and that's what makes them so great. "The Hairbrush Song" is Silly Songs at its best -- an operatic ode to Larry's hairbrush. With a line like "shocked and slightly embarrassed at the sight of Larry in a towel," what more could you want? "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" is another highlight, a joyful song about laziness and Larry, who just doesn't get it. "His Cheeseburger" is a '50s-style love song to a cheeseburger, and "Do the Moo Shoo" is a perfect, albeit far too short, '80-style rap song. The only songs parents might wan...t to skip for sanity's sake are two of the bonus tracks: "Lost Puppies," which is grating and will make you want to rip out your speakers, and "Oh Santa," which lacks the cleverness of their other songs. All in all, it's a great album for the whole family, and is sure to be played over and over (and over) by your kids. - Melinda Hill, All Music Guide Read more Less
