    Suckered is more like it

    By ChristopherA  May 30, 2002

This terrible film totally ignores the origin of Vampirella as set forth in the original comics. The special effects are cheesy 1970's looking. Worse even, the short and skinny Talia Soto looks more like a boy than a sexy temptress from the stars. Sh...e is lacking the anotomical structures, both in front and behind, that make Vampirella instantly recognized by her adoring fans. Just go google.com and find pics of Vampirella and you will find many actresses have worn the famous costume, including Julie Strain, and she would have been the natural choice for this fiasco. The terrible costume used instead just bunches up in the wrong places on poor little Talia, it looks terrible and is not authentic in the least. There is no mention of the book of Chaos in this movie, and the wise Pendragon is nowhere to be seen. This is one of those movies that relies on the fame of a strong comic character to get you into the theatre and then takes advantage of the audience who think it MUST be a good movie after all these years of waiting for the screen version. When will filmakers learn to stay in touch with the essence of the character and not just shoot whatever they want? The X-Men movie and the great new Spiderman are shining examples of how its done correctly. Stay away from this movie, nobody I'v spoken to liked it at all. Read more Less

    Sucked In By Sexy Vampire

This project for television transforms the comic book character of the same name to life and by some small miracle it works albeit as grade B fare. Talisa Soto- who Timothy Dalton was fortunate to romance as James Bond in 1989-provides her exception...al appearance in the title role to satisfy the fantasy of the average nerd who is familiar with this fictional entity.
