    One of the best rockumentaries ever made

    Cons: If you hate the early new wave/punk movement, you'll hate this film.

    Urgh! A Music War is an incredibly good film documenting the early days of new wave and punk with live performances of 32 bands. The film includes a wide variety of music, from the furious punk of The Dead Kennedys to the reggae stylings of Steel Pu...lse to the bubble gum Go-Go's doing 'We Got the Beat.' Best Performances are by The Cramps, Devo, X, XTC, and of course, Klaus Nomi. Read more Less

    Broader in scope than "The Decline of Weastern Civilization", and letting the music speak for itself; "Urgh, a Music War" is one of the definitive documentaries of the late '70's/early '80's punk/new wave scene. ALL of the performances show the inten...sity of the bands of that era, as well as the diversity of the music comming out. It is cool to see (then) unknown bands such as The Police and The Go Go's in their early stages of development, before they became multi-gold acts. Also, it is the ONLY place to see such great bands as The Alley Cats who have fallen out of memory. For anyone interested in the development of alternative music into the '90s and beyond; it starts here. Too bad it is currently out of print. Read more Less
