    This is definitely a new take on holiday music. This is very traditional and joyous with a contemporary edge. I suggest you buy this CD, it would be a great addition to any Christmas music library.

    Upon a Midnight Clear is Jonn Serrie's delightful interpretation of some classic and some obscure Christmas carols. He augments and surrounds the melodies with ambient atmospheres and organic textures. His transcriptions enhance the spirituality of the original compositions while taking nothing away from these master works. There are dozens of new age Christmas CDs but very few of them are strictly electronic. In that style, this ranks with Meg Bowles' Solstice Dreams as the best of the lot.
