Pros: An insight into Carter's brilliant playing

Cons: Would have been cool to hear the opinions of the DMB dudes on his playing. The price is a bit steep as well.

If you're a drummer or even just a keen fan of the DMB, this is a great DVD. Carter's playing was what first attracted me to the DMB and on this you get a close up look at how the great man approaches a few of the earlier DMB pieces. He brea...ks down the parts to a few of the tunes which are really educational for drummers, but its the performance pieces which are truly great. Playing along to the original backing track in the studio, Carter scorches through #41, Say Goobye, Satelite, Ants Marching and of course Tripping Billies. The interviews are cool too, which illustrate what a humble, down to earth cat Carter is (although i would have loved to have heard from Dave and the boys on their band mate's mercurial playing). But while it may be odd, what i most liked about it was that Carter makes a couple of juicy mistakes during the performance pieces yet has left them on the final cut. It proves that the man is human (and makes us mere mortal drummers feel a bit better about life!!) Cool! Read more Less
